Unique Facts Spiders Spooky But Amazing – The spider is one of the tiny animals that many people are afraid of, but behind the creepiness of this animal are some surprising facts.
Spider. Wow, this one animal can make the whole house scream if it suddenly appears. Although small, most people do view spiders as terrible animals. Not even a few who hate spiders.
Even though it doesn’t really need to be that way, you know. Behind its scary appearance, the spider turns out to have a number of facts that will amaze you. Anything? Here are 5 of them.
1. Spiders are not insects
Hey, who still often mistakes spiders for insects? At first glance, spiders have a similarity with insects, but actually spiders belong to a class called Arachnids. While insects belong to a different class, namely Insecta.
Arachnid animals, such as spiders, scorpions and mites, have only 2 body segments. Another case with insects that have 3 body segments. Another difference is that Arachnids have 4 pairs of legs, while insects have only 3 pairs. So, don’t mistake spiders for insects again.
2. Has a very strong net
One of the hallmarks of spiders, of course, is the web that they can cast out to build a web. There are different types of spiders in this world, and the strength of their webs varies. But in general, spider webs have tremendous strength.
How strong is it? When compared to iron wire, a spider web of the same thickness has 5 times the strength. Even if a spider’s web can be enlarged to the thickness of a pencil shaft, it can stop a Boeing 747 in flight! Wow, that’s amazing!
3. Able to jump very far
If the spiders can enter the long jump race against humans, they will be sure to be the winner. Spiders can jump up to 40 times their body length. It’s the same as someone with a height of 175 cm who can jump 7 km in one jump!
Uniquely, spider legs do not actually have strong muscles. They jump by contracting the abdominal muscles until fluid is pumped into the hind legs. Then their hind legs straightened back up, and that’s what sent their bodies so far away.

4. Do not have teeth
Despite their hideous appearance, spiders don’t actually have teeth. Some species of spiders have a pair of artificial fangs that are not used for chewing their food, but only for injecting poison into the body of their prey.
After the prey dies, the spider will secrete an enzyme that will soften the prey’s body. Then he just devours his prey by sucking it. Ew!
5. Can be romantic too, you know!
Boy, do you like to give special gifts to your crush or girlfriend? If not, then you will lose to spiders. Yes, who says that only humans can be romantic? Spiders can too, you know!
In some species of spiders, the male will reward the female with an insect he has caught. Usually the prize is a fly caught in the net. After being given, then they will marry. Hmm, so maybe that fly is his dowry huh.
